Men’s health issues often go unaddressed, with many men not seeking care from GPs or health providers, putting them at risk for serious conditions like coronary heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and substance abuse. Mental health challenges, including past trauma, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and PTSD, are also significant concerns, highlighting the need for greater awareness and support.
There are a myriad of men’s health issues we need to be made aware of that is happening right now to our men. Men’s health issues are not always being addressed at the GP practice. Some simply do not present to their GP or allied health provider. Men are losing out in getting adequate care and are therefore at risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and excessive substance abuse.
Mental health of men is almost the chicken and egg theory. What come first their physical symptoms or mental health? Past trauma, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and PTSD are some of the most challenging mental health conditions facing men today.
